Manuscript Features

This MS comprises parts of the commentary of Durgasiṃha on the fourth adhyāya of the Kātantra sūtras.

All folios are damaged in various degrees. Some 20 fols. are damaged to about 10 to 15 per cent; some 10 fols. to about 25 per cent; 5 fols. are damaged to 50 per cent or more.

The original sequence of folios has been completely destroyed. First comes fol. 23r (exp. 2) commenting on Kātantra sūtra 4.3.17–20. On this folio, the accession no. of the NAK has been inscribed in the space of the binding whole. The same holds for the last folio (fol. 58r; exp. 39), which comments on sūtra 4.5.102–103.

Most probably this MS was confined to the fourth adhyāya only (cf. fol. 3r on 4.1.6–9 and fol. 73v on 4.6.115–116). The extant folios are divided among the six pādas as follows: pāda 1: 4 fols.; pāda 2: 1 fol.; pāda 3: 6 fols.; pāda 4: 8 fols.; pāda 5: 7 fols.; pāda 6: 9 fols. No sub-colophons have been preserved.
